Open Studio: Hand-building & Glazing
Sessions of 2,5 hours
Service Description
This Open Studio option is for those who would like to work independently on hand-building projects or spend time glazing their pieces in the studio. To book Open Studio Hours, you are expected to have basic experience with ceramics and be able to work safely on your own. Each session is 2.5 hours, including preparation and cleaning time. Please bring your own towel and apron. Schedule Tuesday: 12:00 – 14:30 Wednesday: 18:30 – 21:00 Friday: 18:00 – 20:30 Saturday: 10:00 – 12:30 Handbuilding & Glazing Practice This session is designed for members who prefer working off the wheel, using slab, coil, pinch, or glazing techniques. Wheel use is not included in this booking option. If you would like to practice on the pottery wheel, please book the Wheel session instead. Tools & Materials Basic studio tools, a selection of dip glazes, shelf space, and firing services are available. You may also bring your own tools if needed. Materials are not included. You can bring your own clay or purchase: G&S 254 Stoneware clay — €15 per 10 kg bag. If you wish to use your own clay or glazes, please consult with us in advance. Glaze firings are done at Cone 6 (approx. 1220°C). Firing Fees In-studio work (made & glazed here): Bisque: €5 / kg Glaze: €5 / kg External work (made or glazed outside): Bisque: €10 / kg Glaze: €10 / kg Large pieces (over 25 cm): Bisque: €7,5 / kg Glaze: €10 / kg Third firings / re-glazing are charged as an extra glaze firing. Please let us know in advance for scheduling. Reclaim & Storage Reclaim is not included as a studio service — members reclaim their own clay. A reclaim guide will be shared after your first booking. Shelf space is provided, and clay can be stored with a name tag. Personal boxes may be available for package holders or regular members (5–6 sessions). Studio Guidelines A short Open Studio Rules & Guidelines document will be shared after your first registration. A studio mentor will be present for questions, but Open Studio is not a guided class.

Cancellation Policy
Please understand that I am the only person running the studio and my plan and costs depend on your bookings, thus you can only reschedule up to 24 hours and cancel up to 48 hours before the start time. Once you buy a session or a package you will not have the opportunity to get a refund. Even though you cannot find a space to book, you will need to wait until you do. So please make sure you have checked if there is any available space matching your schedule and book as soon as you buy your sessions. DewEra reserves the right to cancel before the start of the course due to insufficient participation, illness or any other form of force majeure. In that case, the customer will receive a cancellation notice by e-mail and will be able to receive a full refund for the session or a change of date. In the event that a cancellation is due to a third party or event beyond our control, the customer can book another date. In that case, no automatic refund of the costs will take place. If the customer cannot book an alternative date, then please directly get in contact so that we can make a refund, only for that session. By buying a session or session you accept the terms and conditions available on the website and DewEra Ceramics is not responsible for the accidents might happen in the studio caused by your actions.
