About

My name is Sebnem and I am the potter of DewEra Ceramics, a ceramics studio in The Hague (Den Haag). Around five years ago I have started to grow an interest in ceramics and I directly started to take courses. Only after few weeks, I bought my first wheel and started practicing in the middle of my living room while I was still a member of corporate world. After that, I have been to courses for months, joined many workshops, and practiced for hours daily in my small balcony in Istanbul until life brought me to the Netherlands. I have been living here for around one and a half year now and finally could set up a studio that I have always dreamed of. I particularly enjoy making vases on the wheel, color of the sky right before it is completely dark, and the coastal life style.

 

In my studio I make small batch ceramics tableware for mainly serving dishes as well as home decor. I have been always amazed by the harmony between the ocean and earth despite the textural difference. Majority of the objects I make reflect this. I am working on my upcoming collection at the moment.

 

I also provide courses and workshops both for hand-building and wheel throwing. But if you enjoy working and practicing by yourself, I offer open studio hours too.
